Where there is need in our community or the world, Northwood is dedicated to providing support through many mission efforts, from making backpacks for children in need to providing cleaning materials to hurricane ravaged areas in Texas and Louisiana. We also support local mission organizations and host community events.

Agape ministries

We regularly host food drives to feed the hungry and support Agape Ministries in reaching out to fulfill community needs. There is a box in our narthex for donations, and we have regular monthly “themes” for donations, such as “Undie Sunday.”

SAMM Ministries

We also support and  participate in SAMM and CAM ministries to house the homeless.

habitat for humanity

We have also been actively engaged with Habitat for Humanity at local sites and have hosted a Joshua Build in our parking lot.

VAMOS YA!

Northwood supports other community efforts, such as holding a book drive for the children at Vamos Ya!—an after-school program for children in the neighborhood of the Divine Redeemer Church.

Joshua Build

A Joshua Build involves constructing wall frames for future Habitat for Humanity homes. Through fundraising and bringing many volunteers together for a day of service in the Northwood parking lot, dozens of walls were created for future construction needs.
