| Mission TripsBeginning in 1989, Northwood Presbyterian Church has sponsored annual Mission Trips. Many of the Trips have been in cooperation with the Presbyterian Border Ministries, seeking to build relationships with Presbyterians in Mexico. We have also gone to Heifer International in Arkansas, Foothills Presbytery in South Carolina, and locally to the House of Neighborly Service in San Antonio. In March 2006, we will be traveling to Beaumont, Texas, to assist in home renovation for victims of Hurricane Rita. Then, in July 2006, we will be returning to Santa Catarina, Mexico to work with La Iglesia Nuevo Jerusalen. " In July 2005, 12 of our members, ranging in age from 11 to 80, traveled to Santa Catarina, Mexico, near Monterrey. We worked alongside Mexican Presbyterians at La Iglesia Nuevo Jerusalen, building pews, storage shelves for their music department, and an enclosure for a hot water heater. In our free time, we toured the area with members from the church and the youth ministry. Here are photos from this trip (click on thumbnails to see the photo):
